Italian restaurant chain Gusto continues to go from strength to strength. Gusto, which operates 12 restaurants, including sites in Alderley Edge, Cheadle Hulme and Knutsford, had reported a 22% rise in sales to £18.2m for the year ending March 31, 2015. Gusto has restaurants across England and Scotland including locations in Manchester city centre, Alderley Edge, Cheadle Hulme and Knutsford. With the financial assistance, Gusto is aiming to grow the brand to 26 sites over the next four to five years. Following the year-end, Gusto also stepped up its expansion programme launching a second restaurant in Glasgow in April, and opening its first restaurant in Leeds in July. The company plans to launch at least four restaurants in 2016, with openings scheduled firstly in Lytham St Annes followed by expansion into the Midlands in Leamington Spa and Birmingham city centre as part of the Grand Hotel development in the Cathedral Quarter of the city. GUSTO will swing open the doors of its new restaurant in Leamington next month. The company has invested more than £1million in the 160 cover restaurant and bar located within the town’s cheerful food quarter in Regent Court. The company is currently recruiting for 60 newly created jobs at the firm’s first restaurant in the Midlands - which will open its doors on June 9 at 5pm. According to Gusto’s Managing Director “This is a very exciting time for Gusto - we are delighted to be opening in the historic and scenic town of Leamington. Our restaurant ethos meets with the demographics of the town and surrounding areas appealing to a variety of clientele. The stylish restaurant will be packed with aspiration touches and beautiful decor, a place where you can feel welcome and special that is perfect for so many occasions. The lavish refurbishment will see the building transformed, complete with an outside terrace to seat 40 people. Gusto Leamington, which opened its first site in Cheshire’s Alderley Edge in 2005, will offer a classic and contemporary menu using fresh, carefully selected, simple ingredients to offer a wide choice of premium British and European dishes. Customers will also have a choice of more than 50 cocktails. There will be a lunch and brunch option, comprehensive wine list and a selection of unique specials with a family focused Children’s Menu served until 6pm.
